Opening Doors for Everyone! On October 16 & 17, to mark Small Business Week, the Strait Area Chamber and its partners are hosting a "Small Halls | Big Ideas" speaker series in four communities focusing on upcoming accessibility requirements for businesses.
As part of Nova Scotia's commitment to recognize accessibility as a human right, standards will be developed in the following areas: built environment, education, employment, goods and services, information and communications, and transportation. Businesses will hear about how these standards will impact them directly, strategies for engaging employees/customers with disabilities, and they will learn about grants/programs that can help them offset compliance costs. Led by experts in the field from the reachAbility Association, this session is for any business that is open to the public and/or has employees.
